This is a guide on how to get dosbox in an acceptable windowed mode at original aspect with good quality and function on a 1080p monitor using the new DOSBox configurator through galaxy.
Graphic mode-DDraw
Fullscreen-Untick
Keep Aspect Ratio-Ticked
Double Buffering-Ticked only if you have flicker
Scaling Engine-You can use whatever you want. But i find the advinterp2x scaling cleans up alot of the DDraw fuzziness, while not making the text look overly bad.
Window Resolution-1680x1050
This will make dosbox games look and play well in a 1080p monitor in windowed mode. At least for me. Hope this helps someone get it sorted rather than try every combination themselves like I had to.
