hello i bought tody Empire Earth 1 hero on GOG but when i want to play it it freezes.
Is there any solution how i can play it on windows 8.1
Hi Margok.

I have EE1 and have issues on Win 10, however; 10 is also not listed under the OS compatible section on the game page. 8 is however shown.

You may want to try the Empire Earth game section of the forum, there are a lot of good people here that are helpful.

Due to my negative rep I can't post links, however; please see below.

There are some Win 10 messages there that may also assist with Win 8.1.

Good luck

Can you be more specific about what happens? When does it happen, his often, does the freeze last forever, does the game need shut down?

Hi, I suggest checking out the game forum - https://www.gog.com/forum -> search the "empire ea" in the bottom left search bar and click the link - and look for potential solutions there, and if that doesn't help, contact Support. If you contact Support within 30 days, and you and Support working together are unable to get the game working (a few back and forth emails), you're entitled to a refund.

Also note on the gamecard: "Compatibility notice: This game is incompatible with most Intel graphics chipsets. An Nvidia or AMD video card is required."

The game had serious graphical issues with old Intel HD graphics drivers, but new drivers fixed all the problems at least for me.

The thing is though, many laptops have pre-installed vendor-specific (HP, Acer etc.) Intel HD drivers, and the vendors are lazy to release newer ones. E.g. back when I checked the HP pages, they were offering a couple years old Intel HD drivers as the "newest" ones.

The ones downloaded directly from Intel's site were only a couple of months old, BUT they couldn't directly be installed on top of HP Intel drivers, Windows refuses to do that. The workaround for that is to first remove (uninstall) the old vendor-specific Intel HD drivers, and then install the newer vanilla Intel HD drivers (downloaded from Intel).
