If you are new to Forum Mafia, take a look at this thread. I highly recommend observing a game before signing up.

This is a basic mafia game with a pre-game twist. If you like scum hunting, this game is for you. There are no power roles, only Vanilla Town and Mafia Goon. Flavor will be limited. The game is designed for 8 or 9 players. Game days will last up to 10 days with 48 hour nights. The earliest start date is Thursday, March 2.

The instructions for the pre-game will be posted in the game thread. During the pre-game, players will not post. The pre-game is brief, just long enough for players to PM the mod. Roles (vanilla town or mafia goon) will be randomly assigned after the pre-game. Once all roles are distributed, posting can commence.

Please note that this game requires a relatively high level of commitment and every player should post regularly. Otherwise the game will stagnate and becomes boring for everyone.
The game can last for some time, you should only sign up if you are willing to commit yourself to it.

To avoid any appearance of unfairness, this game is based on a completed game from another site. Some of our players participate on that site. The pre-game mechanics for that game are outlined here. Our game will include minor modifications based on the number of players and post-game analysis.

Please do NOT discuss the pre-game mechanics prior to the game. Once the game commences, players may discuss as they see fit within the game.

Availability - no time in the morning and afternoon, and most of my evenings are also tied up. Might take the plunge if we're short on players, but my availability will most likely be restricted; I'd hate to piss off my pal trentonlf if we're both town.

Oh go on then. This sounds like it could be fun, and with a smaller game it shouldn't drag long enough to drive me crazy (famous last words!)
