I almost bought Shovel Knight, but I am still undecided. All the praise makes it sound like GOTY material, yet when I check the game trailer, I am unconvinced I'd like the game. Looks like a generic 2D platformer game to me, not sure if I want to use $10 for one... I didn't have a Nintendo as a kid, so "metroidvanias" or ducktales or such don't make me excited.

The trailer has some kickass music though, is that music in the game itself, and is rest of the music as good?

There are some others I am also eyeing, but waiting for now...

I don't own Shovel Knight, but after trying it out at a friend's, I can tell you what elevates this game above many indie platformers, in my opinion: the tight controls. Sure, the art, the music, the characters are engaging, but most of all the game just feels right when you play it.
I didn't have an NES either, so the nostalgia effect is lost on me too. ;-)

Unfortunately I bring bad news.

It's on the mystery games list.
So since "these games are not part of the regular sale lineup" it shouldn't appear.

Bought 2 of the Lucas art bundles so far and got Leisure suit Larry reloaded as my mystery game. Once bitten. Won't be wasting cash on mystery games again when I'm getting crap in return.
