Someone makes a giveaway and gets up voted but when they make a post anytime, it's down voted. And this place is full of such nice people that have no scruples.

Semantic satiation. That's what the rating system reminds me of. It's abused so much, it's meaningless now.

It's likely a small handful who low rate those other posts, and they are likely not the ones taking the games on offer/uprating.

(Watch the posts[even of others]...they are being high rated then normal rated, and then sometimes back again...meaning some are still low rating those posts as well, same as always.)

And it also is responsible for less giveaways here and I for one will never do a giveaway as long as this system is in place, because the takers are greedy and shameless.

Not all takers are greedy and just want games....some host their own giveaways or give back to the community in other ways, or at the very least thank the person giving the game.

As for being shameless: are you suggesting that only those who take no games whatsoever aren't shameless, and that most/all taking/trying for games are being hypocritical in some way? Or something else entirely?

If so on either one, what do you suggest? No one takes from any giveaway ever? Wouldn't that negate the purpose of even having a giveaway, then?

Also how does the r*p system being in place matter re: holding such giveaways if what is concerning is people's greed? Wouldn't they be just as greedy even if the r*p system wasn't in place, if what you're supposing/proposing is true?

All in all I think one(in general) should look at the positives of giving and not the negatives(and with most other things)....else life is apt to become so depressing so as to not be enjoyable if all one can see in anything even partially good is the negatives.

(Also just as bad[imo] as some of what you propose here are those who low rate people who get high rated for saying thanks & those gifting out games.....people doing such are wasting their time when they could be doing more constructive things at the very least and being highly petty and vindictive at worst.)

Can some be doing such things for the reasons you purport? Yes. Are the majority doing so for said reasons? That is highly unlikely, and assuming such without proof doesn't solve anything or improve anything for the better.

So why chase at shadows that might or might not exist, and why not just enjoy life for what it offers?
