Goodaltgamer: IF it is sold by GarageGames (unclear about the TNL part) it would not longer be open source/free as you claimed.
And yes I saw this connection prior.
What do you mean what I mean to send?
According to
https://github.com/lidgren/lidgren-network-gen3 I just copy pasted, and ONE port and ONLY messages is not a game API, or?
So blame the bad Pizza part on them.
For anti-cheating, (as mentioned before, that is what most people expect to be in an API for MP, right?
You claimed there a free possibilities around. But to make it really clear: Best would be to see the open transport part, open anti-cheating, open matchmaking source and as creme de la creme a game using it.
To shortly explain why: You claimed all the above, arguing that there are free possibilities rather than Galaxy (or similar).
I am just asking you for links/proof/Pizza to proof it. (openTNL seems to fulfill it, but rather vague and no further info)
Nope, TNL has both open and paid licensing.
lidgren allows to easily create client/server connections and has Unity integration. What do you mean with "not a game API"?
No, anti-cheating has absolutely nothing to do with client/server functionality.
The "open-anticheating" is clan-based trust system and its only applicable for clan matches.
In public one needs full anti-tampering. Professional tournaments need full anti-tamper plus checked hardware.
You seem to have hard time to understand that:
1) shared screen
2) small LAN
3) WAN Clan match
4) WAN Public
5) Tournament
place very different conditions on MP setup, let alone anti-cheating (which is unrelated and you magically keep attaching it). There is absolutely no need for any anticheating if you are playing with friends and most cheats are easily detectable. Tournament in contrast requires full securing.
Also I know no WAN Public servers which are cheat-free, unless the members are highly self-respecting AND the server is very unpopular (password-secured public server that only few trusted use); because doing that requires securing measures similar to tournament, that demand both human overwatch, full disclosure and full hardware monitoring.
