Linko90: I like their Warhammer 40k stuff, closer to the table top than most. Just wish they';d have more creation tools so we can could paint the armies etc
Katzapult: Well, to be honest that's exactly the reason why I´m asking this question. :D I was thinking about preordering Gladius, but I´m not sure at the moment. Nowadays there a too many games out there that are full of bugs and if you look at the changlog you can only find one entry which says something like "added photo mode" ;)
In this case probably the best comparison point would be the previous game of this developer, Pandora: First Contact (available on GOG, Steam and Slitherine's website).
I've played a bit in Pandora, and it's a mixed bag, with some issues with bugs. I personally encountered one, but quite annoying - after turning on game and playing for a while I had some error, which was closing the game entirely... Unless I've ignored this error and continue to play game (by some reason it doesn't stop the game).
Game itself is the one hand quite simplified 4X type of game (which can be a good thing - I've played in Warlock series which is considered as "drastically" simplified game, yet had a lot of fun with it!), but on the other hand, in my opinion, almost everything is taking quite a lot of time, including researches and producing army (numerous and "quality" enough to deal with roaming aliens and AI opponents).
I'm guessing that some of those issues will be fixed in Gladius (since WH40k are rather oriented on "pre-made" units, while Pandora was about researching and "mixing" weapons with some "basis", such as basic infantry squad, basic chassis etc). So I'm guessing that this part will be more dynamic (which could vastly improve impressions), but that's only my guess.
