Some days ago i broke my less than a month 48" led tv.
I was moving a portable metal ladder and BOOM, turning around, i hit the panel that is now pretty fucked up. I'm a genious, i know.
I hoped that the repair was quite cheap but now i got the reply from the tecnical assistance, asking me €390,00 for a TV i payed €490,00
So i think i will buy a new one (or stay without for a while). Sorry for opening a new thread but i want to share my pain (and my idiocy) with the most people :(

And most importantly, what can i do with a new television with the broken panel, i will use for the barbecue?
Buy the same TV and keep the broken TV it for spare parts. Maybe you'll need it in the future, if the new TV is broken out of warranty.
Could be worse.

Where's that from ?
It's surprisingly difficult to find pictures of a metal band on or near a ladder.

Well played, Incredibly Lame Visual Pun, you win this round...
I have two small children. As soon as we got a tv, I cut a cover from a another large tv box to shield the screen when not in use. It hooks over the top edge easily. It's attractive enough. There's an LG red racing motorcycle on it.

Not a convenient enough solution for everyone, I guess. Works for us, though. I don't think we've uncovered the screen since October.

edit:
Also, the pinch points on some of those collapsible aluminum ladders are terrifying. My dad tore his hand open on one about a year ago. He needed three stitches. And good news, those stitches only cost $550.00 each. Next time, krazy glue.

From my favorite place in the whole wide world, the drakensberg mountains :)

Their exact location is here :

The chain ladder route that leads to them starts at the point the attached picture was taken. The peak in the distance is called sentinel peak, and you have to climb up to the base of those big cliffs, and then hug them all the way to the chain ladder some distance on the other side of the peak. The main destination of the route is the Tugela Falls
