It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Maxvorstadt: At least, the should bring back the possibility to stream movies, instead of having to download them.
You still can stream the movies - just change:
https://www.gog.com/downlink/*title*/*videolink*

to
https://www.gog.com/video/*title*/*videolink*

You can also stream it with your favorite media player on linux (and probably other OS's too), but you need the "gog-al" cookie, a media player with http support and - what I prefer - curl.

Edit: GOG stop trying to sanitize my posts.

RadonGOG: ...no sign whatsoever that "real" (sorry about telling you the inconvenient truth...) movies are folding in...

Trilarion: Maybe that is the crucial point. It seems GOG is not recognized for selling DRM free movies and well as the amount of movies they have to offer is rather limited. I guess this idea just did not take off and the sales are not really promising.

Not every idea has to be good.
Hmm, but is there any other store that sells DRM-free movies? I have never heard about any... :(
...and therefor GOG has to get success. It´s not good that there is no way to buy DRM-free Blockbusters; it strengthens piracy a lot! I mean, hell, it´s just bullshit that we have to pay rather not so cheap prices to get complete shit---Disks that are encrypted and have to be decrypted by otherwise unnecessary software to watch the movie stored on it (BluRays) or accepting shitty image quality and outdated tech (DVDs) --- and in both cases the disk has to be in the damn drive. Hell, you have to own a drive just for that task, as no other application today needs an OpticalDrive anymore...

What I wanna say: The idea doesn´t have to be good; it´s necessary, it´s about time! Just like resurrecting DRM-free games was about time when GOG started!

Damn straight.I'm all for movies/doc on gog and hope the concept has a future.
Same here, DRM-free movies need to be an option, I don't want a streaming-only future. =\ I have a nice collection of DVDs, but nothing beats the convenience of a DRM-free video file.

And let us not forget the unskipable bits. I just looove watching those legal warnings and the ads, as well as silly little animations when using the menus.
Big Winter Sale - Bring it!
