EDIT: Never mind I actually read the thing, you have to pirate the game still and such since this is project 1999.

What this actually is is a new Project 1999 Server where it is actually the pure vanilla content. Because they were running servers with a few expansions like Ruins of Kurnark.

Is there a single-player Everquest like what they did with Hellgate London?

As far as I know, no.

But there is a PS2 Diablo-like called Champions of Norrath which takes place in the Everquest universe.

From the same guys that made Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance no less.

I have been waiting for this and reinstalled the game a couple months ago. Now I need to find the time to play this, and it's going to be a challenge right now.

How does one properly emulate PS2 and PsP? I've been meaning to replay the definitive FFT War of the Lions for years but don't know how to set it up.

Setting up PS1 was insanely hard too... for me at least.

It’s real simple (so is epsxe for ps1). The only thing you need is the game image and the rom, both of which are copyright of course...

You can also use retro-arch, however I found the interface for that really off putting.

For PSP, there are emulators. My preference though would be to buy a PSP cheap, and then add custom firmware, I use neur0ns light minimum edition which requires restarting if battery runs out, but is easy to do. It’s just nicer to play PSP on a PSP from my perspective.

I am waiting for Square Enix to make a re-release of FF War of the Lions in modern hardware.
I'd be happy with a Windows solitaire classic release.

I miss the winning animation.

But I'll be giving this classic edition a miss. I don't trust my self to avoid it becoming evercrack.

Everquest never did it for me, Ultima Online was more my bag.
Hmm, I have a trial disc that I never used way back when, I wonder if it's still valid.

I thought they made Everquest free to play years ago. For the trial disc to do anything, they would have had to retroactively redefined all trial keys to be "x days of premium access"

Yeah, and this is a rerelease so it's even likely that none of the old accounts or keys are valid.
The disc was bundled with a magazine in 2002 and offered a 30-day free trial.

I mean. If the game still runs on a 400Mhz Pentium II with 256 MB of RAM, a 16MB GeForce2, and Windows 98 (minimum requirements as stated on the cover), it'd be interesting just for that. But I doubt all the updates throughout the years have kept that, and I don't really have time for an MMO anyway.
