It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I installed the game as administrator, and am trying to run the game (also as administrator). When I do, I see a new icon appear on my task bar, and after a second or so, it's gone again and that's the end of it. I've been going over the site, I installed the DirectX as suggested, and the DEP settings are also as suggested. Trying this on Windows 10 64bit. I've been running the game for years just fine on this same computer, but after I had to reset it to factory settings I seem to have missed something. Anyone knows what to do now?

Its Star Wars, so all it needs is a strong female character!

Tried not running it as admin?
Naturally :)

and yes
Isn't the Dos version of the game better ? The 98 windows version had a better resolution, but worst non-interactive music, cutscenes, menus, etc.

I would advise playing the dos version under dosbox.

If you really want to play the windows version, try replacing the ddraw.dll in the game directory by another one like this one (do a backup first !). Use the 32-bits version. Also try the XP compatibility mode.

I don't guarantee it will work.

Check if you have Direct Play enabled:

- Press WinKey + R
- Type “Control Panel” and press ENTER.
- Under Programs and Features click Uninstall a Program.
- Click “Turn Windows features on or off”
- Double-click Legacy Components
- Make sure Direct Play is enabled
- Restart Your PC

Alas, the dll option didn't work, and Direct Play was already enabled.
It could be some problem with Overlay:
