Set players 1-8

I saw the incoming remaster and this, being one of those games that: "Each time somebody mentions it, somebody reinstalls it"... I went for another go. This time round, i decided to employee single player with Plugy mod, for ladder runewords and battlenet events in Single. Naturally, i increased the number of players, but for some reason, i didn't notice a difficulty spike or something. Is it because Plugy? Is it because Single Player/non-ladder? Or is it because i didn't notice the game getting harder (but it did)? Drops improved slightly, though.

Does the command work as intended? Does it only work properly in battlenet?

The command should be: /players8
and as far as I know it works in singleplayer only.

It works for bringing more dropped items inside the game-session, but i didn't notice enemies getting harder to kill, which should also happen.
I recall I used it in SP. And it changed difficulty drastically, expecially at hell.
I see they reduced the monsters HP scaling in the latest patches tho.. it was kinda insane before.

Hmmm that's why, then! Well, thanks! More Scotch-Free loot for the happy clicker HackAndSlasher, then!
Depends on what monsters you kill. For example the Act 5 waves that Baal summons, before you get to fight him in the Worldstone Chamber, are considerably affected by players8. But if you try some act 1 monsters, you won't notice too much of a difference.

You're telling me... Those dinosaur like monsters that can't be revived (minions of destruction?), even with 1 more player, they would become an otherwordly nightmare!

Well, not that it matters much; i only need to reach a level 85 area and that's that (cave before rogue monastery, or sewers under lost city act 2)

The scaling should be +50% monster HP per player IIRC. So enemies should have over 3 times more health than normal. Definitely should be noticeable immediately. The amount of items that drops also increases drastically. No idea if Plugy changes anything regarding this though...

I remember using that command a long time ago, in previous version/patch. Monsters mowed down my minions hard and their health was exorbitant.

Now though, i didn't notice much difference, if any, at all. But i am in Normal. More items drop, surely, there is no mistaking that, but enemies aren't as hard to kill with more "players" in the game, not as they used to be. Plugy settings didn't have anything specifically on that, so i am inclined to take at face value, what the other person above said (probably the new version/patch nerfed enemy hitpoints with players joined).

Either way, it is a win/win!
we always set it to max:O

The changes to the scaling have been made a long time ago. They juggled the numbers around in patches 1.09 and 1.10.
