Just wanted to say that for some time now gog doesn't change regular orders to gift orders anymore if you buy them and forget to check the gift this order box. All what you will get is a refund if you wan't it or not. So if you buy a game in a sale be carefull to not forget to click in to the gift this order box.

I wish that box was some different colour cause I always forget about it and then its too late. Just for reference last three games I wanted changed to gifts were all instead refunded without asking me if I wan't that or not.

On the topic of clicking gifting boxes... Lets say I have a GOG gift code, worth 5.99€ or 9.99€. When using this code, can I buy a game as a gift, or not? Because when I tried last, I think it was only possible to redeem such gift codes to your own account and not to exchange them into a giftable game.

Not sure if that's possible, but why not just give the gift code to the person you want to give the game to?

There are no 'giftable games' here on GOG. That GOG gift code you have can either be redeemed by yourself or by any other individual as such. That unless I misunderstood you. By GOG gift code, do you mean a game gift code (such as SimCity 4) or a coupon that recharges your GOG wallet?

I meant having a code, filled with money and redeeming it to get another code of a particular game (such as SimCity 4 in this case of example (do we even have SimCity 4 on GOG?)).

Neither. He means a GOG Bonus Code that you can redeem for a game with a normal price of up to $5.99 or $9.99. Such codes are usually handed out by GOG in contests and the like, and aren't normally available to customers.

Usually that works quite well, but I have a case of "should buy game - gift later". But yeah, that seems not possible.

Usual case with such codes (though it may have changed recently) is that you would be doing it for the normal price of the game, not the discounted one. So for SimCity 4 you would need a $19.99 code, no matter its current discount, and you wouldn't be able to use two $9.99 for it.
That may have changed recently, but haven't had such a code in a while, so no idea.

It's still the same, code is good for up to the base price of a game. Upon redeeming coupon worth, say, 5.99€, you get a list of games that has base price of up to 5.99€ and may choose one. No clicking "make it a gift" box though
Did GOG put restrictions on purchasing gift codes recently? (I remember something to this effect, but not specifics.) Perhaps they stopped allowing order-to-gift changes to prevent people getting around those restrictions.

Still, they should certainly continue to accommodate solid, long-standing customers like yourself.
