A Triple-A Ubisoft Digital Premiere

They may have been nearly lost since the late nineties, but they're very much alive in game design (and our fond memories) even to this day. Today's triple Digital Distribution Premiere from Ubisoft is not just a set of releases that start with the letter A, it's also a collection of games that introduced something new to their genre, offered a unique combination of playstyles and design choices, or tried something fresh and risky with great payoff.

All three releases are updated to work with Windows 10, and are available in a classic Ubisoft bundle at 20% off!

<span class="bold">Anno 1602 A.D.</span> is the one that spawned a series famed for its ambitious mix of real time strategy, business simulation and city building. It's a game that throws you, a pioneer of the unknown, into humanity's most far out frontier to colonise and conquer. Here, you'll find everything from exploration, trading, resource management, diplomacy and even combat - truly solidifying the experience of a true freedom to design your world, and the absolute control to do so your way. Anno 1602 A.D. includes Anno 1602: Creation of a New World and its expansion Anno 1602: New Islands, New Adventures.

<span class="bold">Albion</span> is a game that takes classic RPG and Dungeon Crawling, a healthy dose of humor, and risks its dangerous voyage far, far beyond earth into humanity's true final frontier. It's a deep-space adventure that draws bits and pieces from an unusual pairing of titles like The Elder Scrolls and Ultima - all to feature great looking 2D overworld exploration with detailed first-person 3D combat. Its most direct roots, however, stem from titles known as "Amberstar" and "Ambermoon" - two parts of an Amiga trilogy that never came to be concluded. Designed by the original team behind the Amiga classic, Albion is their true spiritual successor in everything but the name.

<span class="bold">Archimedean Dynasty</span> takes on one of humanity's biggest, most unfamiliar and inaccessible unknowns: the deep, dark sea. You'll pilot a state-of-the-art submarine to brave the depths and trenches of an underwater colony in turmoil. The bulk of the gameplay will be familiar to veterans of series like X-Wing or Freespace, but it's the absolutely unique setting and atmosphere that truly make this title worth remembering. Archimedean Dynasty soon spawned the AquaNox series, making today's release the final piece of a trilogy unique enough to truly earn a place on anybody's shelf.

Brave the distinct unknowns with the Anno 1602 A.D., Albion, and Archimedean Dynasty bundle, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com! The launch discount will last for one week, until Wednesday, August 5, 1:59 PM GMT.
So Anno is 'relaxing'? I love city sims so long as there is room to play around and make mistakes.

Grargar: I think we're done with Ubisoft for now. Hearts of Iron III is a Paradox game, while Revenant is more than likely a Square-Enix game. Also, Cosmonautica and Dream aren't "classics". :P
There are still a ton of Red Storm Entertainment games that Ubi hasn't released here.

IAmSinistar: T'isn't. There be more goodies on the way. Credit to SCPM for the linkypoo.
Oh nice. :)

Let's hope they keep the ball rolling with some newer titles too. I'm still holding out hope for the likes of Assassin's Creed 2 and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

I can't find heads nor tails about Revenant or Dream though, can anyone please fill me in?

Fixed that for you.

All I'm saying is that the article above doesn't say anything about upcoming Ubisoft games. Whether we'll get more installments of Ubisoft series already here, only time will tell.

Whet thy appetite for the delicacies to come! :)

As I said above, none of the games from the link are Ubisoft's. Dream isn't an old game, while Revenant will more than likely be published by Square-Enix.

There has to be more, they only covered the first letter of the alphabet today. ;)

IronArcturus: Wow, is GOG really going to get Revenant? That game looked pretty cool!
Yes indeed, it appears to be on the slate for release. It's a fun game, taken for what it's worth.

Well, we've been patient for two years ever since their last release. What's some more months now? (Yes, I'm being optimistic. Sue me.)

tburger: Concerning missing manuals for Archimedean Dynasty and Albion. GOG was not able to get a copy of those docs or it's sth more serious (let's say: egal limbo)?
Lol, we know where they are :) it's not legal limbo more like "Errrm so, we're launching these actual classics and all, highly requested etc., but the manuals look a little...not so classic...get approval now, clean up and release when ready" :)

nightcraw1er.488: Never heard of it. I have a ticket in: K7MCPAS9
Its only since Friday last week, as I brought Metro fine.
about a ticket, a while ago there was a promo code for pre orders by users of the game guild of dungeoneering

i pre-ordered ebcause one would get a free dlc once that dlc would be released, so i have a little nice dlc waiting for me, always nice to add it to the good game guild of dungeoneering.

But i wanted to buy the music, i got a redeem code but, as some might have seen, was messed up by a glitch in the system.

in this topic things went wrong accessing the game and trying to buy the soundtracks using the redeemcode

topic:

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/release_guild_of_dungeoneering_deluxe_edition_sountrack_66197

the image is already uploaded but here it is again:

triedtobuysoundt.jpg

the redeemcode is apparently flagged as being used, the paysafe transaction was never really done, but the gode is gone.

I also got a ticket, since it was around weekend i waited till after weekend, no reply since 5 days or so.
last time when there was a forumbug i think i had reply within 24 hours.

So, i dont think the redeemcode bug will be solved.,

Precisely. Will seem like but an instance in the passing.

Good. ..Patience is a virtue, huh ? :-P

EDIT: My personal opinion is that lack of ANY version of manual cripples classic release more than release with not-so-good-looking one. You could always hint us it's a provisional version or sth like this. Or, if you insist on 'quality or nothing' scenario, it would be nice to see 'manual coming soon' in Extras section on a game card.
Just saying.

On a dutch website (sort of a craiglist) a complete big box in good condition of Archimedean Dynasty was for sale a month ago, don't know if GOG is interested in that sort of stuff.

Wow! So they finally got Revenant working. How long have they been working on that one? When they mentioned it on the Q&A video a couple years ago they talked like they have already put a ton of time into it already...

Didn't they mention another game that was in compatibility limbo at the same time they mentioned Revenant? I can't remember...
