Update: Classic versions of Bioshock and Bioshock 2 are now available. If you already own Bioshock Remastered or Bioshock 2 Remastered, you can download classic versions directly from your GOG library.

BioShock™ and BioShock 2™ Remastered are finally available DRM-free.

The legendary shooters emerge from somewhere beyond the sea, dripping with that deliciously claustrophobic atmosphere of decay, corruption, and human ambition gone wrong.
Widely considered as the gold standard for story-driven shooters with light RPG elements, they have been remastered to feature higher resolution textures and models, director's commentary, and several other additions that ensure time will never wash them away.
Pump yourself full of plasmids, pump your enemies full of bullets, and dive right back into Rapture's beautifully rotten halls.

tinyE: How large is the BioShock download?

I'm at the end of my bandwidth for the month. Not a big deal but if we are looking at 20Gb I'll wait till next week.
15 GB

Bioshock 2: 13.1 GB
Great games, and an incredible value at $5 each. Glad to finally see them here.

Edit: I should add that I never got a chance to play the remastered versions, so I'm not sure how they compare to the originals. Better/worse/same, no idea. I just know the original versions were a great gaming experience, so hopefully these versions are as well.

greeklover: OH YEAH!!! Can we get them on gog connect? No? Ok:)

Where is Minerva's Den, the dlc for Bioshock 2?
avatar
JudasIscariot: It's in the game already :)
Is there an issue with the overlay for BioShock 2? I see it isn't listed under game features, unlike on the first BioShock's page.
Ok what are the differences (aside from the obvious higher res textures etc)between the originals and the Remastered versions? (why was there a need for them in the first place?)

Awesome. Even better to see that the classic versions will be added too.

JudasIscariot: Both DLCs are in there as our QA team has checked the game quite throughly.

I don't have any ETA on the originals atm but we're working with 2K to get those out as soon as possible.

MBiL_248: That's great, Minerva's Den is a fantastic DLC. Btw. at the moment there are no Galaxy achievements for Bioshock 1, probably a mistake?
That's fixed and should be showing up within the next 20 minutes or so :)

Consoles
Oh wow nice, great releases! Somehow I missed the 2nd game
Oh yeah, quick question: will the classic versions have achievements as well?
Now this is what I'm talkin' about!
great games. excited to see them here. i'm hoping more top shelf games from the ps3/360 era for pc will show up here.

BioShock 1 Remastered includes all the content exclusive for consoles (Challenge Rooms and Survival difficulty). BioShock 2 Remastered lacks multiplayer.

the originals had borked physics. Moving objects etc look like a part of a slide show in the original PC versions. That was fixed in the remasters and not present in the console versions.
