Crying Suns is now available, DRM-free.

After 700 years of peace and prosperity, the Galactic Empire has suddenly been shattered into pieces. The OMNIs, god-like machines which did everything for their human masters, have mysteriously shut down. And humankind, having long since lost the ability to survive on its own, is dangerously close to extinction. But somewhere in a far corner of the Galaxy is Gehenna, a planet of ice and rock and a top-secret facility that is the pinnacle of Imperial Tech and also humanity’s last chance.

You are a clone of Admiral Ellys Idaho, a weapon fashioned from flesh, the best Imperial Admiral ever to battle in the stars and you have just been awoken on this planet by its strange and darkly-humorous Guardian, Kaliban, the last functional OMNI to exist.

Your mission: skillfully command a battleship through the Empire's now chaotic, violent clusters ––where one wrong move could be your last–– as you try to reactivate the OMNIs and save the future of all humankind. But you must leave Gehenna now.... for time has almost run out.
Played the demo on Steam. Seems like something I'd enjoy. Might pick this up later.
Why would anyone play the demo on Steam when you have it right here on GOG??
Nice game, those 2.5D pixel graphics are pretty impressive. Battles are cool, too. Some other mechanics are also good but have little player interaction. Try the demo and see if it's worth your money.
Wasn't convinced when I played the demo some time ago... curious for reviews though, they changed the battles I think.
Fascinating premise. Glad to have a demo to try out.
I kind of want this.
I think I will buy this... love the art and the mechanics seem interesting...

I like it - thanks for pointing out the demo. I'll probably end up picking it up at some point but I just grabbed Stygian last week.

Kudos for naming your persistent gho... I mean clone Admiral "Idaho" ;)
Looks interesting. Will probably pick this up at some point.
"You are a clone of Admiral Idaho"

As they have already said in previous comments, a demo is already available on GOG!

Maybe because when you download a demo from GOG, it stays on your account and you can't get rid of it.
