Jazz up your collection.

Jazz Jackrabbit: The Complete Collection and Jazz Jackrabbit 2: The Complete Collection are now available DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount until December 7, 2PM UTC. Or get them together with Epic Pinball for a neat 25% discount.
He's green, he's lean, he's got some crazy speed: Jazz Jackrabbit, the intergalactic lagomorph with the red bandana and gung-ho attitude is back, exclusively on GOG.com. Both of his bombastic outings were hailed as platform shooter classics back when they were first unleashed upon the world, partly thanks to their tight mechanics and vibrant visuals and partly for their swanky protagonist and addictive soundtrack.

The GOG.com edition of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 can also come pre-bundled with the incredible JJ2+ mod. Packing years of dedication from the Jazz Jackrabbit community, expanded multiplayer features and game modes, tons of fixes, as well as tools to play (and create) the huge library of community-made content.
Download Jazz Jackrabbit 2 with the JJ2+ mod through the Beta Channels feature in GOG Galaxy or by grabbing the appropriate offline installers directly from your GOG.com account.
You can find more about Beta branches here.

If you're looking for an extra dose of platforming and pinball goodness, check out our Special Sale - but be quick, it ends December 1st, 11PM UTC!

MarkoH01: But according to the gamecard that's only the case for JJ2?
avatar
Hastur-: Correct.
Thank you. Tbh I don't even know if there ever were different JJ1 language versions and for this kind of game English might be enough for me as well (you know me - I always want my German version as well ... so I am confessing this here :)).

Well, it's not like JJ2 is a text-heavy RPG or anything, as long as you can understand the menu options, that's pretty much all you need.

Exactly my thinking. Like I said: usually If there did exist a version of my native language version I want to have it as well - it's kind of a thing for me no matter what. In this case however I might make an exception because of the game not being narrative driven and the menus are basically the only text.
Nice. While it's a tad pricier than expected, I don't see a problem paying an Epic tax for the bundle of all three games. After all, I've been enjoying the newest Unreal Tournament and Fortnite Battle Royale at no cost. ;)

According to WineHQ, JJ2 should also run perfectly in Wine, so my Mac mini will get more platforming goodness. :)

I hope we'll see more of Epic Games's back catalog in the future, i.e. One Must Fall, Jill of the Jungle, Extreme Pinball, etc.
Thank you very much GOG & Epic. I can only hope that this will lead to other Epic games such as Jill of the Jungle, One Must Fall and Solar Winds in the future. ^_^

Lifthrasil: Is LAN also possible?
avatar
Hastur-: It should be, yeah. Worked for us at least :P
Great. In that case: bought!
Why can't jazz jackrabbit get to steam :( I want it so badly.

:P

tinyE: I vaguely remember someone coming in a few weeks ago and having a fit about these not being here, trying to convince everyone that GOG was forcing us to pirate these games.

I guess they listened to him. :P
avatar
yellowblanka: And I'll bet that same person is now one of the people bitching about the price in the reviews.
Heh, in both Jazz collections there is someone claiming the games should be free since they were once "freeware." I must say, what a super helpful one-star review about a commercial product! :P
I am a bit confused. Looking at the newspage only it shows JJ1 Collection or JJ2 Collection each with 25% discount even though apparently you will only get the 25% discount if you also buy the Pinball game along with them.

avatar
Klumpen0815: There's something off with the discounts.

GOG's front page gives me 10% discount on both Jazz games and Epic Pinball while my wishlist gives me 25% discount on Jazz and 26% on Epic Pinball.
Just tried this as well. Just go to your wishlist and put the games in your cart. Remove them from cart and see how the price changes back to 10% discount. Definitel something wrong here.

cool and all but ridiculously overpriced
I just wanted to confirm that Jazz Jackrabbit 2 does indeed run perfectly in Wine. No tweaks or setup was required after installing the game into my Wineskin wrapper. :)
Damn good game but that price is a bit much.

Klumpen0815: It's great to finally have them on here and at least the first ones even on Linux, the second collection could probably be given Linux support with a WINE wrapper as well, hopefully that will happen.

The prices are unacceptable though, I guess Epic's price point and the negotiations regarding that have been the reason why it didn't arrive here sooner?

I mean, really... 15,38€ for both on sale?
That is just insulting.

I'll wait.
I agree the price is high-ish, and I fully expect it will go lower on future sales. That said, I instabought for a few reasons:

--I've missed these games! Loved playing them.
--I've never gone to the trouble required to play all the expansions/extra levels, though I craved to see them.
--Want to encourage Epic & GOG to bring all the back catalogue from the '90s glory days.
--I've picked up so many good games here under $2, I'm ok paying a little more for the release that makes me jump up and down.
Congratulations to GOG and everyone who has been wanting these games to release here for so long. I've never played them myself, but it sounds like they must really be something special!

A quick question for Judas: Are these what you were hinting at in that Thursday thread during the sale, or is that for something else?
Given how much money and effort I spent over the last few years tracking down copies of these games after I gave up on them ever coming to GOG, I think I'll wait for at least 50% off, if not more.

(While I bought Jazz 2 in my childhood, I had to get Jazz 1 CD-ROM, Jazz 2: The Secret Files, and Epic Pinball CD-ROM off eBay more recently. and they were not cheap.)
