More Spiderweb is always welcome!
Awesome of Jeff to finally bring Nethergate over to GOG as well.
Is the gog version of Nethergate different in any way from the Steam release? I own it years ago in Steam but ever had some problems with how the game fits the screen. Nothing terrible or unfixable but I am not very happy about how the game is presented in Steam at least in its actual state.

Any difference? Any advantage or fix to buy it in GOG? Any GOG Connect? :)

greetings and thanks in advance
No Deluxe version for GOG?
Just asking ^^
Deluxe is available on Humble and Steam.
Yes!!! Love Spiderweb Software games. Very glad to see both of these here. Old school style RPG releases are always welcome :)
Well it's about damn time Nethergate came here. Will wait for my Kickstarter key.
Neat, I just heard of Nethergate and downloaded the demo after visiting the Spiderweb website. I was intrigued by Avadon and Genedorge for their openendedness, but I'm usually not a fan of such far out setting. But I love me some Gaul v Roman stuff. Quebec's Wish looks like it might be a good setting too.
Well, was quite interested in this for a bit. I buy all their games, even though I never actually get time to play them, and was just about to dive into getting these two. Then I notice a dlc lower right, hintbook and wallpapers for £7.19! That really is ridiculous that a couple of what used to (and shows how far down the slippery slope we come in but a few years) be goodies. This really sours me towards the whole deal, so I will not be buying either of them now.

Reglisse: No Deluxe version for GOG?
GOG are selling the extras here which make up the deluxe edition - the hintbook and wallpapers - they're just not bundling them together to sell as one like the other stores. Shame really :(
I was amazed by how good Avadon is. Definitely buying these ones!
Dilemma: buying the older Avernum Complete for cheap or going for the more expensive remakes and wait for the next three games to be released?

Do you know if the remakes are significantly better?

I'd say just get 1 & 2 remake, they have enough content to last you until Avernum 3 remake gets a steeper discount.

The older games are far rougher graphics-wise and more importantly, UI-wise than the remakes.

Although if you want to see the series in its entirety, the older bundle is your only choice.

EDIT: Typo.

Spiderweb have always sold their hint books as extras for about that price. For example, on the Spiderweb Software webpage, you can buy Queen's Wish for $20 and the hint book for $8. Nethergate originally released in 1998, with its Resurrection remake in 2007, and on their site it costs $10 with the hint book for $6.

So I doubt that this was GOG deciding to charge for goodies, but rather Spiderweb wanting to be consistent with how they price their hint books.

Jeff Vogel discussed his hint books briefly in this post from 2011 (in the section called "Trying To Protect My Hint Books":

Yay! More Spiderweb games! I'll definitely pick these up at some point.
So glad I haven't bought Nethergate on Steam for all those years, always hoping it would come here!
