As the title says, Serial Cleaner is currently free through Humble.

While it comes as a Steam Key only the game is DRM Free, meaning it runs perfeclty fine without the client.

You can download it through the Steam command line downloader SteamCMD so you don't need to have the Steam Client installed at all.

Have fun!

Can you zip it up and stick it on google drive or something then. If it’s free it shouldn’t matter should it? In fact, same for any free iron any site, perhaps we could have a specific “those who don’t use clients” area for downloading these things, they are free after all...

Thanks for letting people know.

I really don't like the trend of Humble forcing Steam keys as "DRM-free" versions, since some of us don't wish to ever use Steam even to download a game once.

It seems Humble has been doing this a lot more lately, at least when I was browsing their store.

Free doesn't mean that unauthorized users are allowed to distribute it....

Gratis is not libre. The license is probably still for personal use.
Thanks!

Why not? If you are giving away something, what does it matter? The key point here is it is Not free. It’s a deliberate attempt to ensnare people onto the platform, hence it is not free, just an advertising mechanism. Otherwise, why not just make it available to download direct from humble?

Free as in free beer not as in free speech. Being given something as a gift doesn't mean that you are free to use it in any way you want disregarding all laws concerning such items.

Receiving a car as a gift doesn't mean you are allowed to drive without a driving licence. Receiving a gun doesn't mean it is ok for you to shoot anyone.

So why do you think that receiving a computer game entitles you to break copyright laws by publicly redistributing it?

P.S.: I don't use clients either. None of my computers had the Steam client installed, ever. If you have read my first post more carefully you would know how to download games from Steam without the client.

Yes, I understand the concept, what I said was the game is Not free, it is an advertising gimmick to get people signed up to steam. Otherwise why can humble not provide direct download - and this goes for all their “freebies” now. I am simply pulling up the fact that it is not free, heck I have no interest in the game in the first place, just fed up with the whole look it’s free on <platform> when it clearly isn’t unless you sell all your data to steam.
