Hi, does anyone happen to know how to un-f--ck Microsoft stubborn c--nt word?

All i did was add a picture to my word document, and then after pasting the picture, shock horror, i actually wanted to continue typing under it. Sounds crazy huh? Who the hell would want to continue typing anything after adding a picture to a document?

Anyway, as completely unreasonable as that is, i would still like to be able to do it?

But, The cursor seems to be in love with the picture, it just wont leave, how romantic!

Anyone know how to solve this?

Easiest way off top of my head,
Select picture
Cut
Press return several times
Move cursor up a few lines
Paste
You should then have lines below it you can continue typing
How about using LibreOffice instead? I'm avoiding MS products where I can... Have to use them at work though, and honestly, since 2003 peaking, usability has gone down the drain for every single fucking product from them. Every new version contains new horrors and atrocities. The only thing that seems to be on the rise again is Visual Studio where the previous version was seriously buggy. But that's another league. All the office applications from Word to Outlook have only become more horrible with every new Edition since 2007.

Thanks for that.... funny, i was half expecting to get some very simple answer that shows Microsoft are not that F--ing dumb after all and could anticipate people 'might' want to continue typing after pasting a picture.... nope!

So it wasn't just my imagination or my inability to keep up with modern thinking! Noted!!

U fortunately very true. Office went with ribbons which was end of days for that. And don’t get me started on office24 (that’s the actual number of days you might get to use it). Skype never worked, ever, on any system. Hotmail turned into some sort of children’s puzzle write blobby colours everywhere. Visual studio dropped free version (although it is back now). Windows went downhill with 8.x, then decided to add loads of tracking. Xbox has gone online only. Games for windows dead was a total disaster. Windows phones died a death. It’s good to see other tech coming in to fill those gaps, though it’s taking a while as business continues on the windows route. It’s happening to a lot of the old guard though.

There might be, but it’s 22:45 here and I am not firing up office to check :o)

That seems to be another modern Microsoft theme.... HIDE F---ING EVERYTHING!
It could be just my imagination, but years ago i distinctly remember everything being much more logical, and whenever i look for an option or feature i needed, it was never an issue finding it. These days if i am after a particular option or feature that i dont know where it is, i dont even bother, because i know i will NEVER find it, no f---ing chance, no f---ing chance in hell.... i have to google it, every freaking time. And if Google gives me pages of irrelevant garbage like it did in this case, i will come and ask here on GOG!

Dump Word and consider one of many superior alternatives.

Like Latex, Calligra Words, Libreoffice, and several other free choices?
Try right-clicking the picture and select Wrap Text > Square.

Sounds like you have it set to wrap text behind the picture for some reason.

Thanks for the suggestion, but, The problem is, Microsoft always targets these type of things with subtle incompatibility attacks. Its rarely all at once, just a key feature here and there goes down.... like i said, its subtle. Then suddenly one day other people not using these programs cannot open your files anymore! - its a headache i dont need.

I tried exactly that, it went all BLAAAAHHHH, had to hit undo real fast!

Surprisingly, the formatting issues you speak of aren't really an issue; the great thing about FOSS software is that they're constantly working around those and more to the point, you can advocate for formats which don't have those idiotic gatekeeping issues.

Idiotic gatekeeping? Yea, its called Adobe!
And arguably Excel as well.
