The problem with Game Sales pages is that they can be way too long a list. Look at the current one, 51 pages.

The list should be broken up into multiple sections that never deviate with additions or removals.

The current 51 page list takes an age to get through, and not often convenient to do it all in one sitting, and a little while ago, when I changed to page 25, I noted that the last dozen (roughly) items at the start of Page 25, had been the last items on Page 24 ... or what was the original Page 24.

Now in the past I have just gone back to Page 1 briefly, to see what has been added, but it has never been clear to me that anything has been added at the start of the list ... the logical place. Perhaps the new items are spread throughout or as a bunch on Page 2 or Page 3 etc. I say that, because the first few games on Page 1 seem the same and seem to have a preferential thing going on .... but I could be wrong.

I guess if I went back and saw something new early on Page 1 that might be definitive, but otherwise I feel in the dark not knowing for sure.

Anyway, please GOG break these long sales lists up to be more user friendly.

It will be to your benefit, as half the time I get part way through and give up because I have had enough, and coming back later it is just not intuitive where to resume or what I might miss out on if I do just pick a page number, when I have no guarantee that listings haven't changed in order.

It's a first world problem I know, but hell I live in the first world.

Cheers!

P.S. Maybe do it in groups of 5 pages .... Game Sales Group 1, Game Sales Group 2, etc.

EDIT
It is not like I can currently right-click on the link back to Page 1 either, and open in a new tab. I have to left click and totally leave where I am at, then painfully click back every so many pages to get back to where I was. Though if I remember to duplicate the page I am on, before I go back to Page 1, I don't have that issue.

What I did to "solve" this was to bite the bullet and go through the whole bloody catalogue one day and add everything I was interested in to my wishlist. Then I mainly buy from my wishlist. Then I check C...-somethingsomething's (terribly sorry I cannot remember the name) list of the titles on sale listed in order of price after discount to look for some bargains. The very bad side of this is that I have to check GOG every day for game additions. Maybe I should just decide I have enough games for the next five years and leave and not return until my backlog is empty.

Well I could do that, but same problems you mentioned, plus I can change my mind about a game on any given day due to mood or something. Not to mention my wishlist is already big enough ... or as some would be sure to think - way too big.

I managed to get to Page 35 before giving up and going to bed, checking tons of the games out, in many cases re-familiarizing myself with many of them. Just because it is on my wishlist, doesn't mean I actually want it. It may just mean I am interested maybe, but not enough info yet .... or perhaps if it is ever really really cheap I might risk it.

Another thing GOG should consider, is that in the heart of the sale the other day, web pages and screenshots were taking forever to load, slowing my browser right up and giving even more angst.

Thanks for sharing.

Not sure if I will use it, as I am keeping this browser pretty clean, so no GreaseMonkey etc.

It does look promising though, so I grabbed it.

I am a Good Old Guy who got worn out yesterday, so at the moment I cannot be bothered browsing anymore.
I did get about 25 games or DLC though, and that's probably my share for a sale, well and truly.
There truly was some cheapest ever prices this sale ... at least according to my records for a couple of years.
