I'm aware not everyone celebrates Halloween, but just try to play along, ok?
Do you have favorite spooky, scary, or strange games that you enjoy playing this time of year?
For me, my favorite game to play around Halloween is...
Castlevania Lords of Shadow
A dark, creepy medieval tragic fantasy that IMO hits all the right notes (I am certainly no Castlevania purist). Other than a fixed camera, most of the systems still feel current and solid... and the story really hooked me, getting me to play all of the games in the Lords of Shadow series (as well as picking up many earlier 3D games as well. yes, no purist here).
I wish I could say that Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 was a great game too, but while I enjoyed parts of it a lot -- and have come to hold great respect for Mercury Steam -- CLoS2 just doesn't have a game as well-told or as mechanically-cohesive as the first of the series.
I'll have to think on others but Vampyr would certainly make my list.
