When I click on my 'games' page on the gog.com website, all I get is a useless list of games that I can't download from, give me back my game shelf that has worked perfectly since gog started thankyou very much.

It works for me, clicking on "games" under my nickname in the main menu on the top takes me to my library with downloads and everything. Maybe you have installed some custom user scripts/styles?

Oh, wait, you're probably clicking "games" on your profile page. GOG introduced those and now clicking on your nickname takes you to your profile and not to your account...

Or, you know, just cklick on the game you want to download from that "useless list" and you'll get the downloads for it.

They are not gone, just well hidden so that "non-technical users" are sheepishly herded towards Galaxy :). If you click on "Download Offline Backup Game Installers" on any game page in your list it will now expand a section where you can download the usual offline installers.
Alright, I think something was wrong with my browser, cleared the cookies and the old functionality is back again.

Maybe you clicked your name in the menu at the top of the page instead of choosing "Games" in its submenu? The account name used to go our games library, but now it goes to our new activity feed on our new profiles instead. Those new pages list the games for everyone to see, so no downloading is possible from there.
I misplaced it behind a brick.

You're right, but that's not the problem the OP was describing...

Yeah, true, but took a stab at it anyway :). It's not like we're lacking in the OPs not describing their problems in an accurate way department.
