I thought they were brilliant, and let you find interesting titles or make you consider playing a game which otherwise didn't seem interesting or had bad reviews.

Does anyone know why did GOG delete them, instead of keeping them and just not letting new ones be created?

And does anyone have screenshots or links to some that could be viewed via the Internet Archvie/Wayback Machine? :)
Some gogmixes put to light bad publishers and bad games.
Publishers didn't like it, so GOG removed those gogmixes.

I pretty much doubt it. In all the years the GOGmixes existed they only ever deleted one (!), because the publisher was already insulted in the name of the mix.

It was probably the same as many other things and features on the site. Code was old and buggy and no one was left who knew how to fix it when they revamped the sit (or it was too much work).

It's sad that they are gone and there is no replacement, but that's no reason for conspiracy theories.

I don't really remember the name, but it was insulting Beamdog.

GOG's response to the removal of mixes here:

Lack of GOGMixes
There are a few reasons why we’ve decided to remove GOGMixes. They were introduced back in 2010 and were never updated, which made the whole feature outdated. This also caused some issues with GOGMixes working properly with the new website. Other than that, through the years we've neglected GOGMixes and their moderation, which resulted in a huge amount of "spam" mixes.
We have plans how to improve games discoverability on GOG, so rest assured this will be addressed. As for GOGMixes, at this time I cannot commit to anything if they will be back this way or another. The topic will definitely be brought back to the discussion.
In short, you can expect this forum to go away in a blink with the next site redesign. :p

Oh... Sad thing, really. My most beloved ones, were:

Diablo clones. A russian bro compiled a huge-ish list, full to the brim with descriptions, on all diablo-like titles, even remotely close or lightly irrelevant, to its gameplay.

Games that treat GOG customers like second class citizens. Useful feedback, regarding the condition of admittedly many games, round here. There is a thread here somewhere, that closely attempts to replicate this gog-mix of old.

Beamdog is the parasite of gaming. A personal favorite, really. This is simple. You get all of the old games (before the merging cashgrab) and completely disregard the horribly twisted, re-iterations.

I miss them too. They had pics and had been a very effective, easy to use, quick-referrence aide. They probably won't return, though. Some of them were heralded as being "toxic", or spreading negativity and bad publicity. But hey, we still have forum threads, lol!
