Together with Pete Davison we're looking into the story of The Beast Within and answer some questions that you might have about the game.
To say that The Beast Within was “eagerly anticipated” would be something of an understatement. After the glowing critical reception of [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/gabriel_knight_sins_of_the_fathers]Sins of the Fathers, the first Gabriel Knight game, the pressure was on Jane Jensen and her team to match, if not better, the compelling story and endearing characters of the original game. So when Sierra revealed that Gabriel Knight’s 1995 second outing was to be a full-motion video “interactive movie” similar to Phantasmagoria, enthusiasts of the first game were somewhat wary.

Long story short, you are behind a proxy. The download link for the game is only for the IP you connected from when you click the link from the my account page.
Ah... I see. Thanks for the fast reply...
This is a big problem. Because my ISP doesn't provide static IPs. My IP jumps across a series of IPs every time I send a HTTP request or something... Which means... I cannot download the games I bought?!?
Bummer.

Sounds like they have a bunch of web proxies that they load balance between.
I'd suggest trying what I posted in the other thread, or wait until GoG find a workable solution for customers in your situation.
Thanks for the help, Lodion.
Unfortunately, there is no way I can disable the proxy cos its an intercepting proxy over at the ISP's side. I don't have a server to tunnel a connection through (never was a SSH type of guy anyway), so I guess I have to wait till the GOG guys solve this?
pretty disappointed... but let's hope they solve this problem soon...
