Fictionvision: I've seen people defend Valve as indie among other things. (The only company that cares about it's customers was my favorite.) So those games appearing on someone's list seriously wouldn't shock me.
Action in the Humble Bundle THQ thread died down too much for you? :)

Actually if you go and read that thread, all my posts were related to the bundle's sales and how THQ must need money to have done it. So yeah try again.

Many games missing there - World of Warcraft could be another.

Regarding high budget titles, I saw Ars Technica list Witcher 2 and Serious Sam 3 in an article on indie gaming, but I felt neither of those would qualify for a proper indie list.

There are simply too much indie games for our puny human minds to handle :(
Right now?

1. Primordia
2. Clairvoyance
3. Qasir al-Wasat
4. The Iconoclasts (alpha)
5. Kairo
6. Dustforce
7. Incredipede
8. Escape Goat
9. Home
10. Middens

With LOVE as a runner up (added a link to LOVE, which is a game, yes).

This is subject to change at any time, though, and probably will.

Pheace: 4. Recettear (Indie?)
Recettear definitely qualifies as indie.
-Treasure Adventure (Both my 8 year old and I love this game! First game I played til I beat it in a long time. It's also free on GOG)
-Psychonauts (The game before Treasure Adventure that I played until I beat it on PS2. One of my all time favorite games!)
-Torchlight (Diablo 1 or 2 w/ WoW styled graphics)
-Super meatboy (Awesome twitch platformer)
-Megabyte Punch (Still in developement, but very much like Super Smash bros w/ customizable robots instead)
-Dungenons of Dredmor (Dungen crawler that I bought for $1.24 and was blown away by how addicting it actually is)
-Terraria (Nintendo meets side scrolling minecraft; My 8 year old, wife, and I all can play it and have fun together)

That's all I can think of at the moment that I thought were worth mentioning.

Both are made by independant companies therefore they are indie
same with Valve games
-Dungeons of Dredmor
-Miasmata
-Mark of The Ninja
-Bastion
-Psychonauts (Because apparently that counts as indie now)
-Gemini Rue
-Cave Story
-FTL
-Minecraft

The tenth spot is a toss-up between a bunch of runner-ups.

Any game major enough to get a wide spread commercial release after development wouldn't qualify as indie in the traditional sense of the game. That would include games like Witcher 2 and anything by companies as large as Valve.

The definition of whats an indie game has been stretched fairly far now a days, but just because a company is still privately owned doesn't make anything they do indie.

Edit: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-01-24-notch-mojang-isnt-really-indie-any-more

An article from Notch talking about if Mojang would still be indie or not from the original meaning of it.

Super Meat Boy, Machinarium and the Wadjet Eye adventure games are honestly the only ones that jump into my mind as being exceptional games. I find most indies to be a passing bit of fun or something I never actually play.

Got a few good looking ones to try when I get home though, mainly Mark of the Ninja.
