Eador. Masters of the Broken World, Etherlords 1&2, Blitzkrieg Anthology 1&2, and more 50% off!

If USSR still existed we're pretty sure its economy could largely depend on game development. There are so many talented people in Russia and former Soviet republics, dedicated to creating complex and solid games, that if the Soviet Union still existed this part of industry could become huge--if only the communists in charge were actually interested in economic development. Let's play a little make believe: imagine a Soviet Empire built on the foundation of gamedev studios, producing top-quality strategy games. If it was preparing to take over the world, the first step would surely be a [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/soviet_strategy_strike_260713]Soviet Strategy Strike. Today, we offer you a taste of the imaginary Soviet Strategic Total Warfare, with a 50% discount!

Eador. Masters of the Broken World is one of the biggest, toughest, and most extensive turn-based strategy games in history. It takes all the complexity you would expect from a 4X game (that is: eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate), adds some extra challenge, extends the gameworld beyond measure, and finishes off the mixture with some top-notch dreamy graphics. The game faced some issues upon its release, but ever since, the developers worked towards squishing all the bugs and implementing even more features. This is the first time you can get the game 50% off on GOG.com. At $9.99 this game quite probably the best value for your money, when it comes to hardcore turn-based strategic gameplay!

If fantasy isn't your thing, you can still get your share of turn-based goodness mixed with real-time gameplay in a captivating Sci-Fi setting. In Altar Interactive's UFO series you'll be commanding a squad of special force operatives facing alien menace in tactical combat. Drawing inspiration from Microprose original X-Com games, those titles deliver their very own variety of terrifying extra terrestrial threat. Witness the entire interplanetary conflict from the first days of the invasion to the final strike against the aliens in three gripping iterations. You can get UFO: Aftermath for only $2.99, while UFO: Aftershock, and the concluding UFO: Afterlight are available for only $3.99 each. Don't miss your chance to defend the Earth!

That's but a small sample of what game the full Soviet Strategy Strike delivers 50% off. Direct yourself to the promo page, for the full varied and robust offer! The promo lasts until Tuesday, July 30, at 3:59AM GMT. Don't miss out!
Nice sale some great games here

G-Doc: It's a shame there aren't any Polish games in the promo. That would be fun! ;-)

SangHee: What Polish games are there? I think now with Witcher and the love for freedom (no DRM) has put the country back on the map. Respect.
There is some GOGmix that summarize it... here it is. Add Two Worlds 2 and Anomaly to the list. Perhaps a few more...
Sale is nice but just from being an a$$ I'd say it's a rather small discount because on sale almost all of those games were the same price as on this weekend. So now thinking whether to buy them or wait for a lesser price. Though I don't think it'll be less. Seeing no promos during summer or winter sale with these games included and also seeing D&D promo at 80% discount I'm getting a feeling that 1C are pretty cheap and are not making these prices go lower.
Too bad.
Hammer & Sickle still not on GOG :(
I don't own a single one of these, far out.

Can anyone tell me if American Conquest is any easier than Cossacks? Cossacks is okay but just way too much work.

I may be wrong but they're basically using the same mechanics. So too much work is still there.

I have the full AC trilogy (yeah, GOG is missing AC: Divided Nation :p), but unfortunately, I haven't got time to play it yet. :D

That's what I heard. It's a great game for people going for detail and hard (albeit rewarding) and grueling work. For an RA 2 fan like myself it just proves to be too much.

That Blitzkrieg series on the other hand, now that may be worth my time.

And to anyone interested, Soldiers HOWW2 is GREAT but it's hard. It's not hard so much in terms of realism or detail but rather the AI is smart and fixed numbers mean one bullet can end your whole mission.

EDIT: now that I think of it I'm actually going to buy Soldiers just to get rid of the DRM from my disc. Not having to worry about that will no doubt make the constant reloading and retrying easier to manage. :D

I'd recommend Rise of Nations (though it's not on GOG and hopefully it'll be here someday. Not many days from this one someday I might add). More simple in terms of setting a start (but not more primitive) with own depths. It's like Empire Earth but... better. As for me, of course. Starting from sticks and stones and coming to nuclear and satellite era on one map or continuous conquest of Earth map through different ages.

I actually have RON and while it looks great, sounds great, and plays great, there isn't really a campaign; it's a basically just a big skirmish. Some people love that and for those people I consider the game a must have, one of the best ever, just not for me. Still, a solid recommendation either way.
Some interesting games in this promo. But I spent a little too much on game bundles and sales during the last weeks and so I think I will only pick up Etherlords 2.
Damn, I've been spoiled. -50% Just doesn't do it for me anymore.

But that may have something to do with my 150+ games backlog.

Heh, I'm not even planning to play all those games. I just look at my collection, close my eyes, and fantasize about playing them.

We must share a brain. :P
Got the Etherlords games and can recommend them at this price. Didn't know Perimeter was on here, might pick that up as I haven't played it in ages. Will probably give a pass on the UFO series, though, even at these prices. The reviews just sound like the games would depress an X-Com fan like myself.
