so 1/2 a year later Gog is getting around to fixing the mess they made by pushing untested code changes out into the public?

No, it sounds more like they're fixing one aspect of one problem that only still affects a small minority of a small minority of users and was the only mistake in the 2.0 launch which they addressed properly at the time. Also they're still struggling with bugs caused by the most recent update causing the 2.0 client to break even worse than it already has been. And all this while still not fixing the several service-breaking issues with it or a number of less severe but still notable omissions from their promise of "all features" from the previous Galaxy client being carried over.

...and they're also more than a month since their most recent reply to my still-unresolved support ticket that's been running since JULY LAST YEAR without them properly addressing the problem.
