The new Cyberpunk 2077 update got released today and everytime GOG Galaxy tries to download the update, then my SSD Usage skyrockets to 100 percent and then it gets slow AF.

It all goes back to normal if I cancel the download?

Anyone else with this problem? There is no issues what so ever when its not trying to update.
A similar thing happens with my mechanical drives. They grind like they're going to die when I update through Galaxy. It doesn't happen when if I delete whatever it is and then reinstall. Also, patching offline installers doesn't make them grind. It's only Galaxy and only with updates. The larger the game, the worse it is. Nothing else does this to my drives. Been happening with Dying Light for years and now with 2077.

Yeah, the update process in Galaxy is definitely quite odd. I only have this issue in Steam if a game update reworks a huge chunk of existing data. Considering Cyberpunk's patches have consistently reworked chunks of the game data, it makes sense but it would be nice if GOG could solve the problem or at least mitigate it a bit.

Sorry to tag you unnecessarily but I just had to point out the humor in the fact that you are at 666 rep points with a name like DoomSooth. It made me laugh a bit haha
