Hi everybody,

I'm having an issue with regards to what the process that sends/receieves the achievements for GG2. I've unlocked through my firewall everything to do with GG2 that I know of, but I have a sneaking suspicion it wants to utilise a Windows SVC like process to do the achievements.

Any thoughts, previous experiences, or condolences? =D
Hello,

You most likely didn't allow Internet access to the game executable itself. That was my problem when first starting out. Support was completely clueless and the only somewhat related support article made no mention of this either.

You may also want to check the list of broken achievements thread to make sure the game you're playing isn't bugged.
I wish it were that simple. Unblocking the executable file still doesn't allow achievements and cloud saves even..\
I still feel as if thee's a Windows component/service being used here, and I dont know howto unblick just the IP with the firewall I am using (doesn't seem to be an option, but I keep trying.)
If cloud saves work at first, then fail "due to heavy load", double-check that the Windows service LSASS has Internet access.

As for achievements, either your firewall settings are too restrictive or the issue is with the particular game you're testing. Allow everything for every executable under the game installation folder, as well as the GOG Galaxy installation folder and C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy. For testing purposes, I recommend Martial Law because it's free and you can get all the achievements in 15 minutes or so.
If you can get achievements to work, you can dial back to less permissive firewall settings.
I thought I established that I have a firewall blocking everything Windows servicey.

I dont feel comfortable having a firewall in place and just opening everything Windows up to the world. Ask questions first, then spread your cheeks to the world!

I hadn't yet identified WHICH service it was that 'GoG Achievements was utilising. As you have noted, lsass seems to be the one. I'll do more research, but as a security based service, well. Research =D

And it's stuff like this whereby I'm not surprised this doesn't run that well on Linux/WINE, and people just use Lutris and Steam.
