Tally-ho!
My "Recently played" section of GOG Galaxy only shows games that are connected to a launcher and ignores games I've installed from discs and standalone downloads. A couple of months ago this wasn't the case, all games I played on my PC, no matter where they came from, showed up. They're still visible in my recently played section if I scroll a bit. Now it refuses to pick up on anything other than GOG/Steam/Epic/Origin/etc games. Is it something I'm missing? Anyone else experiencing this?

Thank you in advance and have a great weekend!

Okay, thank you, then it's something on my end that isn't working. Hm... I'll have to investigate.

Currently only launcher-connected games show up for me. As a test I fired up a couple of games from different sources to verify that it isn't working properly at my end. These are the games I ran, in order:

Progear (Steam)
Endless Forms Most Beautiful (standalone installation)
Demon's Tilt (Epic)
Crysis (standalone installation)
Cyberpunk 2077 (GOG)
It Takes Two (Origin)
Jaws Unleashed (standalone installation)

As the attachment shows, standalone installations and GOG-games are not showing up under "Recently played" while the ones from Steam, Epic and Origin does. Weird...

I haven't been able to figure out why this is happening. There's absolutely no communication between Galaxy and manually imported games and/or GOG games. The only ones showing up in recently played are as previously stated the games connected to other launchers. I'm on the latest update of Windows 11 (22H2) and my GOG Galaxy version is 2.0.54.24.

I think I'm going to try a re-install of Galaxy but it's my last resort as I've been spending a lot of time setting up the current installation the way I want it (with a lot of manually added games, manually added artwork and so on and so forth).
In the "Recently played" I see also manually added games, but them are non listed in the "Activity"
did you perhaps update to Windows 11 in the last "A couple of months"? i ask because i'm still on Windows 10... and will be until 2025 at least

if you log into your account profile on a web browser instead of Galaxy does the recently played list there include your Gog games? [see image]

I moved from W10 to W11 a long time ago but I did update W11 itself recently. Hm... That's a great suggestion, I'll check it out!
...
No, it's the same there I'm afraid! The last game it registered me playing was "Cyberpunk 2077 - 7 months ago".
After a few powershell commands I found out I installed Windows 11 december 2021 so that means it has been working on W11. For a while at least!

Hello again fellas! I just thought I'd update you on my pure haxxor skills:

It just started working again today. I've no idea if it was something I did (on the same day I realized something was afoot I followed the recommendations in the Galaxy FAQ, that is I whitelisted all the Galaxy-exe's in the firewall and verified all my installed games) or if something is going on behind the scenes. Yesterday the problem was the same, today everything's working. And during the last 24 hours I've changed... nothing. It just works now. I wish I had a more detailed explanation if anyone else experiences this problem but I don't. :)
well as mystery changes go a fix is better than nothing... gratz
and i assume some random button at Gog must have had your name on it ;)
