It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

So as is always with Galaxy, it now wants to update again after I fixed the problem with the client not working at all because of update problems last time.

Starting Galaxy goes like this:

1: I click the Galaxy icon to start it. There's some disk activity, but nothing starts.
2: I click again, there's a window that pops up with a progress bar that states it's updating, for about half a second. But again, nothing.
3: I click a third time, and finally the client starts.

This is a wash rinse repeat of exactly what happened last time. I know for a fact that eventually the client will not respond AT ALL. The only thing I can do is download the client exe file and do a fresh install of galaxy. Which works, granted.....but after a few days there'll just be another update and I'll go through the same process again.

TLDR: the client cannot update itself. Even when it starts and it tells me there's an update available. I click update now but I just get the same thing as I get in step 2.

Anyone else get this because this is ridiculous.
you forgot to add a few things; like admin rights, Windiws 11 and 3rd party adjustments to system settings i.e the basics

no i'm not getting it but i'm sure someone must be... good luck to you
Well I don't have win11 yet. Besides this has been a problem for me before win11 appeared. Run as admin is no different. The only settings I can think of is the firewall, which allows GoG through.

Thanks anyway.
