Sorry for the newbie question, but i recently started playing the HotU, coming all the way from the OC and SOU, and in the 1st level of Undermountain, i find this talking longsword on the Hall of Kings.

But... Is it only a +4 enhancement weapon, with +5 vampirc regeneration? I read somewhere, that it "unlock" more powers as you play, and talk to it. As i read, it seems it drains your CON, to upgrade its enhancement bonus to +4, but, it was already +4 when i find it, so i dont get it.

Could someone explain?

Only? It was the most powerful weapon in that chapter IIRC.

I think it goes to +5 or +6 with the con drain, but it's a short term thing. You need to talk to the sword and ask him about it, then do again, and check your char sheet quickly before it fades.

It worked for me. Plus if you have an item that protects you against ability drain, you won't actually lose Con.

You should find that you can change Enserric to a different type of weapon if you can't wield a longsword or if you prefer something else. Also, you'll find as you progress through the game that you can upgrade weapons including Enserric. You can't do that as soon as you get the talking sword however, but you'll be able to soon enough.
