Community,
I have read every topic in seeming existence on how to run NWN Diamond on Win10. To begin with, I have done this before on my desktop and have gotten the game to work amazingly well. On my laptop, it's a different story.
After hours of struggling with settings and graphics options I decided to try something different. I had a hunch that it was not graphics since the nwn toolset starts up perfectly fine, and displays all the graphics from the game. I decide to disable my sound device. This worked.
I have Realtek drivers, which seem to cause lots of trouble for this game. On my desktop, I also have Realtek drivers, but it seems to work. Setting disable sound didn't work either. No, only disabling the onboard sound device worked.
I have renamed nwmain.exe
I have set Win XP service pack 2 and 3
I renamed some /miles .DLL files
I've ran in administrator mode.
Does anyone here know what to do in this situation? I don't want to play this game in silence forever. I had a mind downloading vmware and seeing if I can run an XP image just ot play this...
