Hi all, i just downloaded nwn2 complete edition here at gog.com and wanted to start a new character in the original campaign. The problem is, that the sub races are missing. eg when I select elf and click on "stats", there only is moon elf as an option, all other buttons are grey/empty. I did a search on google and others seem to have the same issue, but i didnt find a solution. Can anyone help?

p.s.: I'm no native speaker, so please don't mind my english :P

After you select elf, you have to click next to see the other sub-races.

no, unfortunately not. after clicking next I get to class selection :(

Something is very wrong there then. When you select race you should not go to Stats next. You should progress in this order:

Race >>
Sub Race >>
Appearance >>
Class >>
Alignment >>
Deity >>
Abilities >>
Background >>
Packages >>
Finalise.

Is this a fresh, clean installation, or do you have other mods installed?

Yes, fresh installation, just bought the game here on gog. no mods/tools installed.

When I'm at race selection, there`s the "stats-tab" on top right of the screen. When you click on this stats button, it shows you the stats of the chosen race (+2 dex, - 2 con, etc). And thats where the subraces should appear too. but there is only the first subrace as an option (eg for elf it's moon elf), all other slots are empty. cant click on them, nothing happens. I bought the boxed version at release and I remember I could chose a subrace back then. Damn, shouldn't have sold it...

Yeah, definitely something weird there then. I just checked my game (freshly installed a couple weeks ago, but not yet played). On Win7 Pro 64 bit. After selecting the race and clicking 'next', I get the subraces. I have the game installed outside Programs and Programs(x86) though. It's actually on a different drive altogether, but if you have it installed in either of those two locations, try installing it outside of there. Something like C:\Games or something similar.

*edit* I also checked the 'stats' screen and everything is blank except the stats for the base race. Just click on 'Next' at the bottom and it should take you to the subrace selection. (I know you said you tried this, but I just want to double check to make sure this is what you did).

Thanks all for your help, it's working now. I contacted the support here on gog and they had the solution:

install and run the game as administrator, simple as that. Now I can choose any subrace i want :-))))
