keter47: you didn't actually kill him , did you ??, that would be sad. i found all the trolls in the game really funny and kind of great ;) didnt kill any one of them in all my playthroughs
There is a hostile one in Act 2 Roche's path. The only bad troll haha

Is that troll exclusive only to Roche's path? i was on Ioverth's path and got teleported to Roche's side of the mist during "Where is Triss Merigold" and saw the troll, i was able to attack it but didnt kill it and i just ran away since i thought he is needed for a quest. When i went back, the troll is no longer there -.- is it becasue i killed the Arachna lol?

No idea if it's exclusive. I rushed through Iorveth's path. But if it attacks you without giving you any options to pick from or a dialogue then I guess it's the same troll.

Wait, perhaps I misunderstood. No, I never even swung at the troll; I ran my ass away. I thought what aglynne meant was, the fight would be interrupted by a cut scene, as are several other battles in the game (like, pretty much every battle with a major character; you never actually get to kill any of them). If that's not the case, then I think the quest was broken. Either way, maybe it'll work next time.

This is exactly what happens. You start to fight and the Troll stops it. Then the quest carries on after he explains the issues.
