To get that sword you have to choose Roche over Triss in Chapter 3, after Roche cuts Dethmold's balls search Dethmold's body to find the key and open the nearby container with that key.

Armor of Ysgith blocked all Letho attacks. I pity the fool :-)
No point to change it for Vran armor and loose 1 vigor and 30% magic resist

You are welcome. It is a good sword but unfortunately you don't get to use it much as there aren't many humanoid opponents in chapter 3, especially if you side with Roche in chapter 1 and then choose the Roche again in chapter 3. Maybe it was planned for expansions.


Indeed there isn't developers must really look into that issue, you shouldn't lose +1 vigor(losing magic resistance is acceptable for me but not as much as %30, the amount you lose must not exceed %15), crafting should be used to get better items not nerfed down ones.
