Whats with the black robed monk standing in the corner of the downstairs inn in Flotsam ?

He says he has some kind of relic, what relic is he referring to ?

Some promotional thing. Apparently you get a link to a deal on game prices if you win enough times (the "relic").

In other words, completely irrelevant to any main plot or side quest.

If you get the relic, you will also get a tutorial tip that explains how to use it. [I was late; vAddicatedGamer already explained it.]

You have to beat him at dice poker and you get a reward for GOG.com. I think it was a discount on certain titles, not sure if it is still valid.

That is what it is for but it doesn't work. Supposedly it adds something to the "Extras" menu in TW2 for you to claim your prize. Nothing gets added, you have to contact GoG directly and they will give you a coupon code or something along those lines, don't recall exactly what it was.

Beating the monk was supposed to add a link to this page to the extras section.

You're actually required to beat him with two pairs. Only then do you 'win,' so to speak, but yeah, no need to bother with it. It doesn't work anyway.

1) That was posted more than two weeks ago.
2) It referred to the reward/link not showing up in the Extras menu - I don't know if that has been fixed by now though.

Anyway, nice to see that the promotion still works. Unfortunately there are only games I either don't like or still own as originals (Outcast, I-War 2).

How can you not like Total Annihilation? :O

Master of Orion is a masterpiece, too - although you'd have to like turn-based strategy for that.

Ah, yes, the promotion still works; I meant that the link is never added to the Extras page, as it is supposed to be. I think the promotion works for anyone going to that site, anyway.

EDIT: I tried to check out and purchase the games I had selected, and I received a message that the promotion code used had expired (or been claimed by someone else already). Despite this, I still received a discount, however... :/
