Won this off the dwarf playing dice in Chapter 2. It says quest item on it, so I can't equip it and I don't know what it is used for ...

Also, has anyone else discovered this place in Chapter 2 where there are like 100 harpies ... you go down a spiraling cliff and find a door that says key required as well as a chest that says key required ...

Is this something I get to later or am I missing something ... I wanna know what's inside those doors / chest! lol

I wonder if it isn't a broken quest. It doesn't help you in getting the Banner itself as you think it would from a story point of view. I'm not completely done with the chapter, but looking at what I have left I cannot figure out where it will come into play this chapter either.

Minor spoilers:

I heard the Dun Banner Cloak gives you another chance when you mess up a question while talking to the Standard Bearer ghost in the catacombs, but haven't actually verified that.

That place with the harpies plays a role in a quest on the Iorveth side, but if you're doing a Roche playthrough you won't be able to go in there.

Wow thank you for the reply! I was recently questioning what would play out if I made different decisions and that sounds awesome. I sided w/ Roche (a decision I was so torn about that I quit game to think about my decision lol) so that makes sense.

Ah just a minor correction, it's the Beaver Cap that grants you a another chance at the questions with the Dun Banner wraith.

Also the Dun Banner itself is a quest item related to lifting the curse/mist in Act II.
It's actually goo to play both sides. Each gives a different perspective to the story. The elf side is a bit more story-driven, though.

I was under the impression that both of them served that same purpose, and that acquiring both would allow you to either screw up two questions or trick the wraith outright (not too confident about that last one).

Does anyone have a save with the two items? I'd really like to check, just to sate my own curiosity :)
You can use both for second chances to wrong answers AND you leave the beaver skin cap on top of the sarcophagus for Zyvek. You still get the Dun Banner sword even if you use the items for a second/third chance.

Neither items are used up if you get an answer wrong, not sure if the cloak has any other use, but it stays in your inventory.

I was just there with both items trying different combinations, hopefully this helps anybody wondering.
