rio20d: Hi guys, sorry if this topic has been brought up before. I was wondering if any of you ever wonder if Hollywood would take the Witcher into the big screen, which actor and actress are the most suitable for the role...
So far as Geralt of Rivia ( Craig Parker) its the guy who acted as Haldir in Lotro) maybe add few more scar of his face make it looks rough :)
And then as Triss Merigold ( Christina Hendricks), I cant think of any better redhead than her, she has the looks , and the body.
Any thoughts..? Havent thought more on other characters like Zoltan, Dandelion, Roche, Iorveth, Saskia, Letho...etc, feel free to add....
I think if they're gonna make it, they should probably pick carefully the director as well, Theres a lot of content from The Witcher series too. If it is made properly this one can be as great as Lord of The Rings trilogy...man I really wanna see the Battle of Brenna in big screen between Northern Kingdoms vs Nilfgaardians Empire...that would be epic...
Or the battle between the Kaedwenian vs Aedirn...and so on
Anyway.....Sorry I was bored thats all, I already finished Witcher2 six times now on all modes ( easy, normal, hard, insane etc)....man I want expansion :/
I'm surprised that being from Britain you cannot look beyond Hollywood. Let's acknowledge, Hollywood scriptwriting SUCKS. Big Balls. They haven't done anything but steal, copy and borrow stories from movies from all Over the world, including: Italy, France, Japan and the old Hollywood itself of the 30s to the 70s and 80s for the past decade and when they do something Video Game related is not that good. So far the best attempt was the Prince of Persia and even that was mediocre compered to old Hollywood standards. (Great compared to the sea of crap they put out today)
You should have seen the original POLISH Witcher Series by now. It's on Youtube. There's an extended version of it that was turned into a movie. So your idea doesn't apply. God save us ALL.
To be honest given my own experience I much prefer Polish film making and acting to current CGI gimmick based Hollywood standards. But for that, you require certain level of maturity in taste.
IMHO Hollywood should dissappear from the face of the earth, it will be better for humanity.
The last admirable series that was produced by a Hollywood Company was the Rome series by HBO and even that one had British actors and producers written all over it. I guess is because American Theatre sucks nowadays?
