(This post contains minor SPOILERS for Chapter 1)
After searching GOG and several other forums, I've found that I'm not alone in this problem.
Prior to accepting the Kayran: Osmurk quest (i.e. prior to finding the wreckage), I had already done a bit of exploring of the forest and fought my way through the waterfall, where I picked up osmurk.
Then I went to the wreckage, where the quest prompted me to find osmurk. My osmurk has vanished from my inventory. Back at the waterfall, I can no longer retrieve a "new" osmurk from the blue-colored rock. No retrieval prompt comes up.
So unless I am missing something, there's no way to get the osmurk. Thus this portion of the quest is broken if you picked up osmurk early. There was no way to know this would happen. I figured it'd stay in my inventory, even if it was for a future quest (at the time). But unfortunately, it instead simply vanished when the quest to find it came up.
Does anyone know whether this is something that might be fixed in a patch, or should I try to fight the Kayran without it (that sounds sucky)? I'm definitely not re-loading to before I explored the cave; way too far back.
Thoughts?
Thanks.
