Mjauv: While it's unreasonable to give a shitty game like DA2 94 %, at least the reviewer on Pc Gamer explains WHY he gives TW2 a score of 89 instead of a 90+.
And let's not forget that 89 out of 100 is still a darn good score!
They were written by different guys. I think EA paid HUGE for that DA2 review score! The recycled areas alone should have made the game lose at least 1.5-2 points, as in mostly of other serious reviews.
Few czech/slovakian reviews from largest sites here:

Games.cz - 9/10

Sector.sk - 9/10

Eurogamer.cz - 9/10

Doupe.cz - 9/10

I guess they really like the number nine : ).

An ambitious and morally complex role-player, but one still limited by a poor script and half-broken game mechanics."

After attention that destructoid got with their troll , next "critic" is seeking similiar attention and hits on site :D

The wiki-page looks pretty fine to me now.
Anyone reading it will only see 9 and 10s out of 10 and hopefully, the idea of heading out and buy The Witcher 2 will stick :)

And Jim Sterling is just a fat lonely cadaver of a reviewer who's desperate of getting more people to read on Destructoid even though it features neither interesting editorials nor a good news-section. Seriously, f*ck him.
The IGN review is one of the best reviews outhere they took their sweet time as they should wit this kind of game

Norwegian tabloid/newspaper Dagbladet got a review up as well:

6/6 -
"The most beautiful RPG in the world?"
Pros: Fantastic atmosphere, rewarding combat system, visually unique.
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning (yes, they actually wrote that)

Conclusion:
"If you are one of those who only got time to reward yourself with a single role playing game in the year, you can't afford to miss out on this. Buy The Witcher 2 as the greatest addition of 2011."

In the review itself, their only complaint is about the uneven difficulty curve.

Actiontrip: 7/10 - "I think The Witcher 2 feels more like a new Gothic game. In short, frequent hack'n'slash style action puts less emphasis on tactics, character development or anything else that constitutes a really good role-playing game."

AusGamers: 9/10 - "But as an RPG, currently exclusive to PC, this comes highly recommended as it provides a compelling and mature story, great combat (eventually), all wrapped up in what is clearly one of the most visually impressive games to be released in a long time."

Guardian.co.uk: 4/5 - "The Witcher series is undoubtedly still on a journey in terms of playability, but for scale, depth and sheer class it already feels like Europe's answer to Final Fantasy — and that's been a long time coming."

Intense Gaming: 9.5/10 - "The Witcher 2 is a game that blends amazing graphics, game play, and story into an incredible package that will be pleasing gamers for years to come. It is the most impressive RPG I have played in many years, and in some ways it rivals the N64 Legend of Zelda titles, all while clearly drawing on them for inspiration."

Mad Overdose: "In short: Witcher 2 is a game true RPG lovers should not pass up. Even if you hated the first game like me, it is worth a look as it takes everything about a good RPG, beats it over the head, and shows the world how it is done. Despite very minimal short comings, the quality and love poured into this rich experience is second to none. With challenging combat, expansive storyline that you actually give a damn about, and a hot red head you can have your way with, it’d be a shame to pass up on this title."

Techage: 95/100 - "An extraordinarily fun game and excellent story, most certainly a game of the year contender."

I liked ActionTrip, but damn, that review is a joke. Vader has no idea what makes and RPG game an..RPG game.

Just wanted to drop a praise to CDPR for this wonderful game. I hopeful CDPR wont make the same mistake as BioWare did to DA2.

Big Thanks to CDPR

Awesome game

I don't know if they ever have the time to play video games with their community members these days as I imagine the empire they've built out of the webcomic has become a full time job, but in their earlier days, they did. A lot. Let me just say, they're piss poor gamers. :p I love them to death, but I would never take anything they say about difficulty to heart.

Seriously. He gives Mass Effect 2, the very definition of a dumbed down game, a glowing review yet rips on TW2 for the same thing? How is TW even remotely related to the Gothic games outside of a fantasy setting? Terrible review.
Metascore dropped below 90. :/ Not that I care about metascore in general, but It would be nice for The Witcher 2 to have "Universal acclaim" stamp from the site.
Yeah that sucks. Few shitty reviews and average is down. I wonder when will G4 review be there.
