scampywiak: I hope we can eventually delete files in the game menu, rather than having to manage them in the save file folder. First AAA release for me where I've had to do this, actually.

227: Since patch 1.2, you can hover over a save and delete it by pressing the delete key on your keyboard.
Son of a bitch you are right. My mistake.

digby69: Correct, but not every game, application etc supports SLI, Crossfire or 3D so get over it.
I've well aware of that. But The Witcher 2 supports the feature altho some app bugs prevent it from working correctly. And furthermore the devs even made a deal with Nvidia to promote such features as 3D to be working straight out the box. And there is still no ETA for a fix for these issues.

avatar
digby69: And even if they are supported and don't work cos of bugs it is still not a game breaker.
It is for me, duh since I have an SLI rig unlike you. What do you know about the issues I'm having?

avatar
digby69: so the word I'm looking for (that has been used by a lot of other people) is Nit Picks!
Nope. A nit pick would be the kind of thing that annoys you but doesn't prevent you from enjoying the game.

Broken SLI is not a nit pick, nor is broken 3D which was promised to be working straight out of the box. Even the aspect ratio issue isn't a nit pick since this is a PC exclusive. Not a freakin console port.

The game has an awful support and I believe partly why it is that way is because majority of the team is atm developing the 360 version. The resources are there, and PC version has the lowest priority.

In light of todays shocking revelation that "patch 1.3 is being worked on" (shock and amazement) I stand by what I said before. It's not hard to set a date for release and give it to the people who paid money for the game.

Depends on how they approach the matter, if they are continuously collecting feedback and getting to know about the bugs, then the date can't really be set. If they fail to get the patch out by a set date, they'll probably receive an equal amount of backlash. Plus, when it comes to programming and such, it can be easy or devilishly tricky to fix some issues, so how quickly you can solve a certain issue can vary.
Changelog coming tomorrow, they hope. Source.

I agree. It's all about managing expectations. There's more to be gained by not giving you a release date than by giving you a date and potentially overshooting that date.

I guess they could set a date and when the date comes, release what fixes are completed, but then people that finished moaning and crying before the patch release would just start back up again on the remeaining issues.

If they have what they think are ALL of the issues and they feel that they can resolve ALL of those issues within a reasonable amount of time, I will not complain about them just trying to finish it all in one last patch. 1.2 is playable enough for me to actually have to force myself to wait, on a 3rd playthrough, until after the next patch.

brother-eros: But maybe you're having a bad day, I dunno, I get mad too sometimes. But "shut the fuck up"? Just try to relax a little hey?
I don’t quite remember the reason for using that phrase. I think it seemed appropriate at that time since your smartassing bothered me.
