Did you like them? were they too easy/difficult?
I don't remeber in any rpg I played that I found a puzzle which I couldn't solve eventually and mostly logicaly not with "brute force".
In Witcher 2 though I had problem with most of the puzzles, sometimes I needed just hints, sometimes it was just brute force method, so I wonder is it just me, or these puzzles are not so well implemented.

Here is a list, may not be complete, watch out for spoilers:

-Baltimore's dream note, finding the secret workshop: I knew that it may be connected to that closed chest, but from there I lost it. I even went to the ship wreck, but did not think it has its reference in the note, and definately did not think that I could burn the plants anyway.

-Drawing the diagram to break Henselt's curse: not really a puzzle or could had been very easy, but still it was annoying to get it right.

-Gargoyle's contract: those poems were very confusing, I've tried to get some sense from them without succes ofc. Then got hints from the web to buy those books and that some lines can have more than one reference. I think this could had been a good puzzle with a little bit more ingame hints.

-Bygone era entrance: I got the instructions from the guy still it made little sense to me.. maybe because i1m not native english speaker, I dunno. I got that at some point the order of the words are reversed and after finding a pattern my solution here was half logic/half btrute force

-Bygone era chamber: I've learned that each brazier activates two other too, wrote them down and tried to figure out some logic to follow, but then accidentaly I opened the door. My plan was to try to get to a point where I have to light 3 braziers and then check if there is one which works on that 3, brute force seems to work better here too.

So what do you think about the puzzles?

I HATED the gargoyle puzzles. Even after I learned what the symbols meant the clues did not help at all! >:(

I dunno. maybe they made more sense in Polish..
Of the ones I can remember:
- Chapter 2 Beach hut...I luckily got right first time so probably not complex enough?
- Chapter 2 Henselt Curse...straightforward using Dethmold picture, my own picture of the site and a little trial and error
- Chapter 2 Baltimore...was looking around Vergen for the workshop location when the game gave me a huge hint...cheated on the hideout location. I wasn't happy with my cheating here (unlike gargoyles puzzle)...I felt that I could have got this one if I'd had a bit more patience.
- Chapter 3 Gargolyles...seems crazy (although I may not have read everything given to me in game as I was in a bit of a hurry). I cheated to learn the pattern and then was left wondering how I would have figured it out on my own...especially the fact that only a subset of the documented signs featured in the puzzle(s). Doable I suppose via a process of elimination but enjoyable?...not sure
- Chapter 3 Candles...seemed straightforward...got it on 2nd or 3rd try

Overall I'd say poor balance...some too easy and one WAY to hard (unless I missed something). Certainly didn't wreck the game for me though.

So what do you think about the puzzles?
I didn't get the Baltimore dream note at all. But since I traveled a lot in the game. I kind of know that there can be only some places to visit. Finding the house was a bit hard for me. Couldn't remember where it was from the dream.

I think for many it would be impossible without the guide. Yes, agree with you.
The Gargoyle puzzle was awful. Everything else was all right though. Nothing in particular strikes me positively just the somewhat nonsensical Gargoyle puzzle.
i thought the gargoyle puzzle was fine. the lines with two runes i was thinking, "this could be either one!" but somehow didn't make the connection to actually use both even though there was an extra rune in the room. i felt kinda dumb after i looked it up.
Well, I think they get high marks for the variety.

I didn't think any of them stunk.

I prefer the riddle type, not being mathematically inclined. So, I am probably in the minority that thinks the Gargoyle contract was best of all.
