I see on the current (22th of May) The Witcher temporary Community page that they tell people to uninstall Nvidia 3D Vision. Is that really necessary?

Can't us using those Nvidia cards just disable 3D Vision in the Nvidia Control Panel by removing the check for activating it under Stereoscopic 3D?

Note:
I have not installed The Witcher yet (ordered on Steam before I saw it on GOG.com). I'm waiting for the patch to come out and the problems with using the old login on The Witcher to be solved first.

Sorry for bumping.

Anyone know the answer to my question regarding Nvidias 3D Vision?
yes you can just disable 3d vision in the Nvidia control panel. I am running game in 3D and it is awesome bit of a lag before I installed patch but is now running fine in high settings hope this helps
I am running i7 950 gtx580 12gb ram
1.0
with 3d vision driver installed (not necessarily enabled) fps jumps from 35 to 10
w/o 3d vision driver (deleted using DriverCleaner utility) fps steadily above 50
1.1
with 3d vision still deleted fps steadily above 50 (did not notice any significant difference)
didn't try out to install it yet.
Thanks guys for your replies :)

I've got a GTX 580 myself. My CPU is only a C2D E8500 so I might experience a little lagging now and then but counting on upgrading this Autumn.
Wow, this is the first time ever in my life I've been forced to play a game on the Low settings. Can't wait for Autumn where I plan on rebuilding my system using a more up-to-date mainboard.
Many of us 3D Vision users are waiting on Nvidia to release a new driver to address the performance bug that cripples frame rates inside certain indoor areas like the prison and tavern areas.
