Last night I reinstalled Witcher 2 after trying to fix an issue with the DLC (which I later learned was everyone's problem, not just me ) After installing the game, I cant login with the menu to register my game ( server problems ) nor can I even update my game past 1.0 since I have no idea what patch to use. All the links on their website are for different versions of digital retailers. I tried the International patch, it fails. The Atari patch, fails, same with the Atari_DD. I cant even play the game anymore. I was fine waiting for them to fix the servers but I cant even do another playthrough.

Anyone know a fix? I was looking around these forums and google but i'm coming up short
check the readme file in your installation directory, and look for "Patch 1.1 Corrections" . if you reinstalled it most likely updated to 1.1 by itself.

If this is the case:
The patch contains "troll trouble" dlc, and for vendor dlc get them here

If not:
not sure what is wrong

When you say it fails what error message do you get exactly? I know when I uninstalled it didn't delete lots of my data and so when I re-installed I still had loads of mods which prevented me from patching. If you have installed any mods make sure they're all deleted from your cooked pc folder. Other than that I don't know.

I'm doing a complete reinstall this time. I wanted to save my first playthrough save files last night but I'll just beat it again. Once the install is finished before I even run it i'll turn everything to admin and see what happens

It would give me the "Installed Game Version Is Invalid Or Incomplete" whenever I try the International patch which I found on their site for all retail copies. but i'm doing a complete reinstall now ( had no mods before, I didnt even know the game could be modded until last night ) and going to see what happens

what I have been hearing around the forum, is if you got retail and reinstall, the activation patch that runs when you first install the game, now also contains patch 1.1.

This is the exact error message I got when I had mods/dlc installed. Hopefully if you make sure it's a completely clean install it'll work. Fingers crossed.

It wouldnt update last night because the game wasn't registered ( couldnt log in to register it ) but giving it another shot

When I got the game I entered my DLC codes and they appeared on my list. I tried to download them but I guess it was doing one of those "days to download" I read about. I can only assume there was a partial DLC in the CookedPC folder, hence why everything was failing.
Fingers Crossed as well

not that update. when you unlock the game with the cd-key. it downloads a small file and patches.
or maybe im delusional. not sure lol
You shouldnt have to touch the registration part to get this working
