i think the ini resets only when going to the configuration gui not if you go to the game directly

Try running the game from the witcher2.exe file in the Bin folder instead of using the launcher.

Thanks for the replies, guys!

I just copied the edited .ini file before launching the game and then replaced it but I think it's best to avoid the Launcher Settings as some of you suggested.
