Opinions are opinions, and I respect them. But calling an orange an apple isn't an opinion!.

spiderpiglol12: Edge dont really have much love for more western developed rpgs judging by their track record. Here's a few scores of previous titles:

Mass Effect - 7/10
Jade Empire - 7/10
KotOR - 9/10
Baldur's Gate 2 - 8/10
The Witcher - 5/10
Morrowind - 6/10
Oblivion - 8/10
Fallout 3 - 7/10
Diablo - 7/10
Diablo II - 6/10
Dragon age: Origins - 5/10
Mass Effect 2 - 10/10
LOL I look at that list and I see a action twitcher gamer, not a RPG gamer!

The ME2 10/10 tells the story!
Old time RPGers dislike ME2
Younger players and action junkies love ME2

Though im surprise Diablos got so low with him and KotOR and BG got so high!

Ahhh well, looking at that list, not a reveiwer Id look to for imput from!

cloud8521: guys guys guys, opinions. respect em
No respect for idiotic opinions from me, sorry.
People have a hard time understanding that reviews are SUBJECTIVE opinions. Although I like that their fairly conservative with ratings. Beats the American inflation which has put the IGN average at 8.5 something.

The review is fairly good, although it focuses too little about the core RPG mechanics. I wan't to know more about the combat, the story and the immersion. Those things are breifly touched upon, but not much more than "irritating targeting system, you can use bombs, spells, traps, and for five seconds after you can't loot".

I'm with you on the score inflation thing. Then again, I always think that the average should be five and it should move over time to account for current standards.

I think Edge has just as much score inflation as any site. They just have a record of giving low scores to RPGs. They've given out plenty of 9s and 10s to lots of games, especially smaller indie games, where their standards seem to be *extraordinarily* relaxed compared to with games like TW2.

Seriously? By definition (and law, at least in my country) everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. You said you don't respect that. Who's trolling? :D

If at all I was using your own argument against you. :P I guess it's trolling to you since I hit the nail on the head. XD

Oh, this is all really silly. He didn't say the person's not *entitled* to their opinion. He just said he wasn't going to respect the opinion. For instance, someone is entitled to hate black people, but I'm not going to respect that opinion, and I'll challenge it every chance I get.
The poke in the Papercraf of Kings video was damn funny.

"We strongly recommend it, 3/10"

There is a difference between just "saying" something or backing it up with arguments by writing a full review (and please don't turn my words around, remember you just compared racism to gaming...). You might not share the same opinion for that arguments but at least you got to tolerate the opinion. If you want to contradict it you have to use counter-arguments. Just "saying" you don't accept it simply doesn't cut it.

The ironic thing is that this would invalidate your own opinion. If you counter a full written review with "not listening" you mark your own opinion worthless. An opinion should always be backed up with arguments.

And that's what I wanted to say. He then just unpacked the "troll-mace". It's as effective as it is blunt. Just call someone a troll and he's done for. No reason needed, no arguments needed....because he's a troll. -.-
". In a game where your target determines which direction you’ll dive when you dodge, or leap when you attack, being unable to switch to the right enemy is often fatal."

lol that's not even true, aiming with the mouse decides your target. Just another one who just doesn't know how to play the game and is whining because he sucks at the game.

You can aim with the mouse yet you have auto aim instead of a crosshair. You can check this easily in front of training dummies. The one in front of the camera is selected and if you turn around it remains selected until the targeting system decides that another is in sight and aims it.

I said in front of the camera because auto aim also works on targets behind Geralt.

This is worse in a fight when enemies move around like crazy and auto aim shifts from one to another making it more difficult to select a specific target to attack.

Compare this to the aiming system from The Witcher and you will see the difference.

The only advantage of the auto aim system is that it is a lot easier for controllers but it can be frustrating for people that prefer the precision of a mouse.
