I've downloaded the 1.21 patch and just started HoS (previously installed). So far everything seems fine. Just wondered if I should download HoS and the DLC again, or will the patch have updated those files?

To be on the safe side, please update HoS and DLC Pack.

Grah: To be on the safe side, please update HoS and DLC Pack.
But Admin, patch 1.21 introduced a number of fixes for HoS as well, won't re-installing the DLC after that negate the fixes made?

What's the installation order?

1. witcher 3 - 1.10
2. patch 1.21
3. all dlc ( 1.21 ) + Blood & Wine

?

Is it "1.12.1" savegame safe?

Yes, preferable install order is, assuming you got latest version installed and all DLCs:
- patch 1.10->1.21
- Free DLC Pack (1-16) / Hearts of Stone
- ... soon Blood and Wine :)

All offline file versions ending with "2.0.0.44" number, easy to spot :)
