After having updated my amd rx 6600 xt to the latest driver (23.3.1), horrible stuttering and micro stuttering rendered the game unplayable. I had no problems before (amd driver version 22.11.2), getting 60 fps and fluent gameplay. So I uninstalled the latest drivers using the amd software (amd-cleanup-utility - proceeded as requested by the software) and installed the previous amd driver (22.11.2) which didn't cause any problems. But for whatever reasons the stuttering remained and now the game is unplayable (the stuttering got so bad that even fighting drowners kills me!). Has anybody experienced something similar and has a solution? AMD doesn't answer and the internet doesn't seem to be aware of this problem.
My specs are: MSI B450 tomahawk max, Ryzen 5 2600x, rx 6600 xt, 16 GB Ram DDR4
Any help would be appreciated ;)

Do you play on DX11 or DX12 mode? If DX12 then change to DX11, u will get much higher performance. Ur GPU is to slow for RT in this game and without RT using DX12 is almost pointless. (its not optimized and works worse then DX11)

Read guide in my Mod description:
https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/7979

copy two Mod ini files:

0_TW3_Modified_General_Perf_Tweaks.ini
0_TW3_BetterMultiCoreUsage_NoLimit.ini

to folder: [The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt]\bin\config\platform\pc

Also do every step in list of settings from point 2) to 10) (Except for the part about ray tracing options and point 9) with DLSS is no need). And you don't have to use RTXGI Unclocker to get those two ini to work.

Thanks for your answer, I'll try that.
Do you know whether an update (the latest driver seems to have screwed up several things) could have changed the setting from DX 11 to DX 12, because I used DX 11 before and never changed to DX 12. I've never had RT on, since I'm no fan of ray tracing and since I have an Radeon graphics card never turned in on.

You were right about the Dx12 issue. For some reason updating the driver seems to have also changed the witcher. exe from the folder with the dx11 *.exe to the folder with the dx12 *.exe (there are two different folders after the new gen update ?). And for an unknown reason (amd driver issue?) my system changed to the dx12.exe folder. Though why my system can't get along with the dx12 version I can't say.
After starting the exe from the dx11 folder everything runs smooth again.
So thanks again,
